Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Behavior: Journal of Management undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of the published work.
1. Initial Screening
Upon submission, the editorial team will conduct an initial screening to assess the manuscript’s:
-
Relevance to the journal's scope
-
Compliance with author guidelines
-
Originality (plagiarism check)
-
Overall academic quality
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be desk-rejected without external review.
2. Double-Blind Review
Eligible manuscripts are then sent to two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous during the review process to ensure objectivity and fairness.
Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on:
-
Originality and significance of the research
-
Clarity of objectives and methodology
-
Appropriateness of analysis
-
Quality of interpretation and conclusions
-
Contribution to the field of management
3. Review Outcomes
Based on the reviewers’ comments, the editorial decision may be:
-
Accept (with or without minor revisions)
-
Revise and Resubmit (major revisions required)
-
Reject
Authors will receive the review results and are expected to respond to the reviewers’ suggestions in a timely and respectful manner.
4. Revision and Final Decision
Revised manuscripts will be reassessed by the editors and, in some cases, by the original reviewers. The final decision on acceptance or rejection rests with the Editor-in-Chief, based on the recommendations and the quality of revisions.
5. Timeline
The peer review process typically takes between 4 to 8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and response time. Authors will be notified promptly of any delays.
6. Ethical Review Standards
Reviewers and editors are expected to declare any conflicts of interest and maintain confidentiality throughout the review process. Suspected cases of plagiarism, duplicate publication, or research misconduct will be handled according to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
